THE BOOK OF BOOKS

Jerusalem will become a cup of trembling (again)

Israel's prime-minister Netanyahu wants to keep the status-quo. Nobody will dispute Israel present borders, the populating of occupied Palestinian land and building walls and detection-system to keep the Palestinians out. The status-quo also means; daily rocket-attacks from Gaza, sabotage and infilitrating terrorists. Like in Roman times, Jerusalem is filled with soldiers and mercenaries. The airforce too, is bombarding Gaza and Syria, an “independent” nation.

This is no status-quo that can be held. The tensions are rising and knife-attacks on Jews or Palestinian drivers causing car-crashes in Jerusalem happen on a daily basis. These “lone wolves” are on a suicide-mission from God.

More and more restrictions or security. Israel leads in spying equipment, won't help. The state of Israel depends mainly on foreign labour and the borders cannot be closed, for too long.

When the smoke over Damascus will slowly fade away and the Middle-East lays in ruin, the focus will turn on Jerusalem. Millions of Arabs (m/f), young, armed and eager, have been prepared in recent years, to give their lives as a blood-sacrifice, to the Islamic Messias, they name the Imam Mahdi.

When he manifests himself on Earth, the infidels will be killed. Infidels are all non-Muslims, especially the Jews.

The earthly headquarters of this “Anti-christ” will be in Jerusalem, where he will found the Islamic World Caliphate and start a global jihad.

The believe in the Imam Mahdi is, under shi'ites and soennies, rising. A former prime-minister of Iran, Achmadinedjad, held a religious inspired speech at a UN-meeting in New York, proclaiming that the coming of the Islamic Messiah was near and that the population of Iran was ready to march.

Where to, to Jerusalem of course. The status-quo cannot with-hold the rising tensions between Israel and his direct neighbours.
